Small Editions collaborates with early-career artists to publish limited edition bookworks and artist books. Our publishing program centers the book as a form of art, as opposed to the book as a vehicle for art. Through each of our projects, we seek to explore the book's role in contemporary art by combining traditional bookbinding techniques with experimental materials and multi-media construction methods.

Each year, we invite 2–4 early-career artists across disciplines who have little to no prior experience with artist books to join our publishing program. We advise and collaborate with them over the course of months (or years!) to brainstorm, research, and construct books. Our studio funds the production, promotion, and distribution of these projects, and profits are split with artists 50/50, in the form of completed books and/or sales.

Small Editions is not currently accepting artist book pitches or submissions.
