INTRO TO FOIL STAMPING$115
WORKSHOP
Hot foil stamping is a finishing process used for many book projects, typically as a cover treatment. Foil stamping uses a die (usually magnesium) and colored foil with an adhesive backing.
“Intro to Foil Stamping” is an in-person workshop at Small Editions’ studio that will teach students how to set up and execute foil stamping projects. Students will gain hands-on experience stamping with our Kensoll and QuickPrint machines. We’ll try out different foil types and paper substrates, all the while troubleshooting common foil-stamping problems.
The workshop has a maximum of 8 participants. We think it’s most suitable for graphic designers, book makers, and folks working in print/book publishing, but any and all are welcome.
The cost of this workshop is $115. Tuition includes five spiral-bound notebooks stamped with your own custom magnesium die (which can be used for future projects). Please note prior knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is highly recommended if you’d like to create a custom magnesium die.
Registration before September 28th is required for all participants wishing to make dies. Files must be received by September 30th in order to make dies in time for class.
