FILE PREP FOR BOOK PRINTING (ONLINE) $95
with Hannah Pierce
If you’ve ever been confused how to get your pages imposed in the correct order—or just how to start a book file—this workshop is for you. If you’ve ever had issues with print quality or color reproduction—this workshop is also for you.
In this one-session crash course led by our director, Hannah, we will lay the groundwork to create healthy files for book printing using Adobe InDesign. This is an online class conducted over Zoom, which will enable us to work off of one common InDesign file.
We'll cover proper document set-up (bleeds & pagination), color profile proofing, resolution, layers, formatting automation, and more. This workshop will focus on workflows for digital and offset printing, but knowledge learned in this workshop can be used for other methods such as Risograph printing. We’ll hold the end of class to review participants’ individual projects.
The cost of this workshop is $95. Tuition includes advice tailored to your individual project, a digital guide book with key points to remember, and a blank INDD template to build new projects from.
MATERIALS
Please have Adobe InDesign and Photoshop downloaded before the workshop. We ask that participants have some familiarity with Adobe softwares, but you don’t need to be an expert in any regard.
In order to receive indovidual project advice, participants should transfer a packaged InDesign file with questions, or (if the project hasn’t been started yet) send a list of questions to Small Editions no later than 11:59pm on Saturday, March 15th.
